seahorses represent gender fluidity, shapeshifting, and balance.  they carry a gentle energy and strength in their differences, with the ability to both blend in when necessary and stand out in their uniqueness. 
 
in the animal world, male seahorses are the ones to give birth, and this piece was created in honour of all the trans and gender non-conforming birthgivers out there.  giving birth transforms your body in ways nobody can accurately prepare you for, as each person's experience is unique. your ability to be a portal is fully activated, and the effects are everlasting.
